Our Story
Candle of Hope was founded in 2002 to help girls and women in post-war Liberia rebuild their lives and futures.
After leaving Liberia as a young girl, I returned in 2014 and witnessed firsthand the harsh realities many girls and women endure—extreme poverty, gender inequality, exploitation, early marriages, and limited access to education. These experiences deeply moved me and renewed my sense of purpose, strengthening my commitment to creating opportunities that empower girls and women to build sustainable futures for themselves and their communities.
